Violence in any form should be condemned – we say. Then, isn’t it a form of bloodless-violence where poorest of the poor are virtually forced to change their religion to Christianity with the arm of material temptation?

It gives rise to a paradoxical situation where the virtual arm used is that of development, assistance, healthcare, sanitation, education”. If the Christian missionaries have the genuine intention of empowering the poor people who are in the Hindu society looked upon as pariahs, then why with this condition of change of their religion? Are they (the acting forces behind conversion agenda) up for some malicious motive? Do they want to use Indian Poor’s plight for their own prosperity, in terms that they want to see themselves as majority? I think the answer is –if not conspicuous- somewhere around ‘yes’. They do want to see themselves as majority in the countries with the similar operation, and I have personal experience of knowing few foreign nationals who are convert Christians residing in India. ON the basis of that experience only I also want to add that actually it is burning hatred for Hindu religion that the external forces are using non-U.S. foreign nationals to carry on the mission. That is, behind this act of utter kindness lies a shimmering spark of hatred. But, this in no way justifies the violence. And what is ironically unfortunate is that in our country violence is done for some petty political gains and not for any moral consideration.

Either such conversion should end, or be made genuine, by keeping an eye on them on their commitment for the development of poor and removing the prerequisite of change of religion.
